I walked into the house around dinner time, instantly smelling the rice they were cooking for dinner. I greeted the family and asked where Christine was. They said she was in the kitchen. I grabbed a chair, greeted her, and as I sat down with my mom’s friend, Christine, a mother with four kids in her forties with long brown hair and brown eyes. She works as an elementary school teacher now. She sat down, crossed her legs, and asked what my first question was, clearly eager to give me information about her college years and what helped her grow as a person. She spoke well and seemed pretty well educated. |
