Do you have a suggestion?) -SHOW! DON'T TELL! (development of ideas/descriptive imagery) -Thesis (implied or explicitly stated) -Plot (development of setting, characters, driving conflict, climactic moment, resolution) Prompt: Write about the memory you have chosen to focus on for your coming of age personal narrative.
On Fri (10/18) and Mon (10/19): You will work in collaborative groups to discuss the story and complete the short story note sheet. You will have an open notes assessment on Tue (10/22) Reading Schedule:
Reading and Writer's Notebook Schedule: Mon (9/30): 1/4 through book and Writer's Notebook Entry #3 Mon (10/7): 1/2 through book and Writer's Notebook Entry #4 Mon (10/14): 3/4 through book and Writer's Notebook Entry #5 Revised - Mon (10/28): Finish book and Writer's Notebook Entry #6 Annotate the poem and complete the SOAPStone to the best of your ability. Be prepared to work in cooperative groups on Tuesday (10/8). The reading comprehension assessment will be on Thursday (10/10). You will need your annotated poem and completed SOAPStone for the assessment. |
